SUMMARY:The Listening Body
DESCRIPTION:Dorna Music & Arts\, in collaboration with Melissa Deeken\, invites you to The Listening Body—an intimate\, movement-based workshop that centers the body as a source of wisdom\, expression\, and emotional awareness. \nThis gathering offers a gentle and reflective space to slow down and tune inward. Through music\, embodied movement\, and creative arts practices\, participants are invited to witness their inner emotional world and create space for what is ready to be felt\, heard\, and expressed. Together\, we will explore sacred longings and personal narratives through movement\, sound\, and communal sharing. \nNo prior experience in dance\, movement\, or the arts is required. This workshop is open to all bodies and abilities and is held with care\, inclusivity\, and respect. \nAbout instructor:\n \nMelissa Deeken is a psychotherapist\, grief tender\, and dance movement healer.  She has devoted her work to weaving healing through the layers of body\, mind\, and soul and sees healing as both an individual and communal call to returning home. She brings a deep respect for the wisdom of the body and the power of creativity in the healing process.  Her dance movement work invites individuals to awaken\, listen to and release the body’s inner knowings and shadows through the creative arts of movement\, sound and ritual. In the margins of her life she finds renewal in the water\, on the dance floor and through acts of solidarity or protest for human rights.
